Rio Vista

Rio Vista | Fort Lauderdale, Florida

One of the older communities of Fort Lauderdale, Rio Vista was established in the 1920’s and still showcases many historic homes. While new construction has come to the area many residents were drawn here by the age of the community and the beautiful tree lined streets. Like much of Fort Lauderdale, Rio Vista offers many homes with direct waterfront access, including deep water canal access that is even mega yacht worthy. The benefits to boat owners do not stop at deep water, the canals are easy to navigate and ocean access is attained without fixed bridges and residents report that it takes just minutes to get to the open sea. Many of the homes have private docks and enough private water frontage for large docks that can house multiple boats.

Located next to Downtown Fort Lauderdale Rio Vista is one of the larger affluent area consisting of about 1,000 homes. In addition to the convenience of downtown Las Olas Boulevard is accessible by either boat or car and provides a variety of entertainment options. Spanish style influences are notable in many of the larger estates and many of the older homes showcase colonial architecture. The beautiful greenery of the area extends right to the waterfronts giving a secluded feeling to many of the homes, despite the size of the area. Rio Vista means “River View” in Spanish and is therefore aptly named.
